California African American Museum
Explore the art, history, and culture of African Americans–with an emphasis on California and the West—at the California African American Museum (CAAM). Five spacious galleries offer a wide range of exhibitions, featuring dynamic works by some of America’s most acclaimed visual artists, insightful examinations of important figures and historic moments, and contemporary works by local artists who are integral to Los Angeles’ vibrant cultural landscape of today.
Located in Los Angeles’ beautiful Exposition Park, CAAM houses a permanent collection of more than four thousand works of art, artifacts, and historical documents, and a publicly accessible research library containing more than twenty thousand volumes. Performances, conversations, art workshops, film screenings, family programs, and other public events enhance your visit, and admission is free!
