The Academy Museum

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is building the world’s leading movie museum in the heart of Los Angeles. Located in the historic Wilshire May Company building on the campus of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Academy Museum, scheduled to open in 2017, will contain state-of-the-art galleries, exhibition spaces, movie theaters, educational areas, and special event spaces. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano, the Academy Museum will be the world’s premier museum devoted to exploring the history and future of the moving image. The Museum will provide interactive, immersive, and engaging exhibitions that will pull back the curtain on moviemaking and highlight the history and future of the arts and sciences of film.
